Captain Hotknives

Straight from the dark streets of Bratfud Captain Hotknives brings you songs of life, drugs, growing up and weird situations all with a twisted perspective. 'Shabby Muffin' about the crap food you can buy on a train journey for £1.50, 'Mushroomz' about everyone's favourite fungus and 'Glue' an ode to solvent abuse fly by and will bring a huge smile to your face as everything said is true. More tunes go by and you will laugh out loud, even if you're in the house by yourself, and I found myself almost crying to the last line of 'Jimi Hendrix Won't Help You With Your Maths Exams' Unlike going to see the man live there is drums and harmonica and other instrumentation backing what has got to be some of the best 12 songs ever written. Imagine Half Man Half Biscuit without the droning Scouse accent or John Otway without the heavy metal bits with a touch of Frank Sidebottom without the papier mache and you're not even halfway to the genius behind this. It's rare for Yorkshire to come up with anything as clever as this but Captain Hotknives should be up there with the best of 'em.
