Hammer is known for his love of deep rolling arps, old analogue synths and big euphoric melodies.
Recently playing festival and clubs like Love International, Panorama Bar, Glastonbury, Fabric and headlining AVA Festival in his hometown in Belfast. Alongside releasing tracks on labels such as Unknown To The Unknown, Correspondent, Optimo Music, Sulta Selects and Shall Not Fade, Hammer has been doing live streams at the Saatchi Gallery with Feel My Bicep, B2B live stream for Warehouse Project and Resident Advisor with Sally C and a Boiler Room show in Vienna.
Making productive use of the lockdown period, Hammer launched 2 new labels, Italo Hiits and Remmah. Italo Hiits was born out of his fund raising home workouts, giving himself and his audience a music orientated wellness space that was as high energy as the tracks he made for it, ‘I Wanna Be Like You' is a pure slice of Hi NRG nostalgia. With 3 colour vinyl releases to date, the label is dedicated to his indulgent modern take on Italo Disco. The other label he started in 2020, Remmah, is heading towards its 10th release. The personal project has now become a platform to launch new talent into the industry. Giving space to debut artists from all backgrounds around the world such as Sublime Sound, Stevie Cox, Anna Gram and his latest release, the hugely successful ‘Muleña’, a collaboration with emerging artist Killimanjaro.
Next year, Remmah will share its first compilation album, featuring both established and emerging artists, including Optimo’s JG Wilkes, Anna Gram, Ysanne and Remmy. Hammer's collaboration comes from love of people and creativity. Finishing this year strong with the ‘Scope EP’, a powerful piece of synergy with DART on their favourite label, Shall Not Fade. Hammer’s final release of 2022 is on Terr’s label, Clash Lion. He goes back to his arpeggiated sound for this EP, working with 2 vocalists, Michelle Manetti and Alice Killme. ‘Transit EP’ includes a massive remix from Terr herself.
Hammer has proven himself a worldwide DJ, setting off on his second North American and Indian tours this year. Hammer will continue creating sell out vinyls on his The Hammer Hits white label, like ‘Love Somebody’ and ‘Strong Enough’. With Hammer, you know there’s always more to come with a huge new disco edit planned on his white label, a track that was tried and tested at Houghton Festival last summer.
