Jono is dedicated to spreading the universal energy of music. Always with a soulful and loving touch, and with the free spirit of Jazz as the absolute backbone of what he does - Jono has been selecting, curating, promoting and supporting independent music, artists and labels for over 25 years on the underground scene. Musicality and feeling drives what he loves the most – getting the music on. His 2 year BE MORE WELL monthly residency on Voices Radio (LDN) navigates Ambient, Jazz Forays, Electronic experiments, Field recordings, samples and spoken word, whilst at the club his ¡TROPICA! and Lift Your Feet parties give full dancefloor focus and energy release.
He co-founded the ground breaking institutional Thursday weekly Likeminds in York and also supports local DJ talent at his residencies at Angel On The Green in York – plus regular call ups for dropping the vibe at Spark York and The Cresent Community venue in the city. With his latest party Club Sonrisa, he is drawing upon the freedom of the Balearic spirit which was a formative place for him musically as he came of age, with a series of parties planned for 2024 all raising money for The Right To Dance.
With an obsessive need to flex and stretch the boundaries of his collection, Jono has shared line ups with diverse artists such as Justin Robertson to Nubiyan Twist, Tom Middleton to Kamaal Williams, Dele Sosimi to Cosmic Slop plus many, many more.
